Country Road in MontanaMontana Molecular’s assays are ideal for measuring GPCR activity on Biotek’s fluorescence plate readers!  In fact, we screen and optimize all of our fluorescent assays in-house on our Biotek Synergy MX.  We were curious about the new Biotek Cytation 3 imaging plate reader, and took it for a test drive last fall.

Because the Cytation 3 is a multichannel microplate reader that combines digital microscopy and conventional microplate detection, it seemed ideal for use with our genetically encoded fluorescent sensors that detect changes in GPCR second messengers in living cells.  We collaborated with Paul Held and Peter Banks from Biotek to quantify and visualize multiple components of GPCR signal transduction with sensors for diacylglycerol, cAMP, Ca++ and PIP2 in transiently transfected, HEK 293 cells.

It’s no surprise that the Cytation 3 was a big hit at the  2014 SLAS conference and that our  SLAS Poster caught the eye of so many!
