Many diseases that impact millions of people still lack effective treatments. New treatments could be developed if better tools for drug discovery were available.  The more we can learn about the cell signals that impact disease and the mechanism of how drugs effect cell signaling pathways, the better our predictions will be about how new drugs will work in humans. Check out a recent story about Montana Molecular and photos of our lab in The Daily Chronicle.  We like the writer’s analogy describing our new biosensor. We couldn’t be prouder of the results from our recent NIMH-funded project to develop a genetically-encoded biosensor for diacylglycerol. Building tools that help advance understanding of GPCR signaling in the nervous system– and just about any other organ too, keeps us motivated…that, and living in the last best place.
