DAG sensor and μ-opioid receptor desensitization
P1020741_2

Early adopters of Montana Molecular’s DAG sensor at The Vollum Institute published new results in the British Journal of Pharmacology.  This study made good use of our Upward DAG sensor for diacylglycerol to examine how PKC activation affects the desensitization of the μ opioid receptor.

Investigations into the molecular mechanisms of opioid receptor desensitization are directed at finding new insights into how  narcotic tolerance develops during drug abuse and in patients being treated for pain.

Many thanks to John Williams and his colleagues for enthusiastically embracing our fluorescent sensors in this study!
